We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Jockey to join our Fortune 500 Distribution team. The Yard Jockey will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the yard. CDL driver license not required.
Pay/Schedule
- 1st shift: 7:00AM - 3:40PM (M-F)
- Pay rate: $16/hr
Duties
- Safely maneuver tractor-trailer units within the yard to facilitate loading and unloading processes.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Moves product or materials in a production or warehouse environment using forklift, pallet jack or dock loader.
- Reads production schedule, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Records amounts of materials or items received and distributed.
- Maintains the equipment in a safe and clean manner and reports service requests as needed
- Follow all company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in yard driving particularly with tractor-trailers
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Strong understanding of load and unload procedures
- Forklift operation experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
