Information Technology Project Manager

SKYTEK Solutions is a fast-growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in cloud-based IT solutions, infrastructure modernization, and cybersecurity services. We partner with mid-market and enterprise clients to optimize their IT environments, reduce costs, and ensure long-term operational success.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical IT Project Manager based in the Chicago area to lead complex IT infrastructure, cloud migration, and cybersecurity projects. This role requires strong project leadership, hands-on IT expertise, and a deep understanding of MSP operations. The ideal candidate will have PMP certification, be well-versed in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, and be comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced MSP environment.

• Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and security initiatives.
• Develop detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budgets.
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee MSP-focused IT projects, including Active Directory migrations, domain consolidations, network security, and cloud transformations.
• Implement project governance, ensuring proper documentation, risk management, and reporting.
• Work closely with engineers, network architects, and cloud specialists to drive technical execution.
• Utilize Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies for efficient project delivery.
• Monitor and mitigate project risks while ensuring successful execution.
• Ensure compliance with ITIL, ITSM, and security best practices in IT service delivery.

• 5 years of experience in IT project management, specifically within an MSP environment.
• PMP certification required (or equivalent project management certification).
• Local to the Chicago area (hybrid role with some onsite meetings required).
• Strong experience managing projects using Agile (Scrum, Kanban), Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, IaaS, SaaS), networking, and cybersecurity.
• Proven track record managing Active Directory migrations, cloud transformations, and IT security initiatives.
• Familiarity with MSP tools like Autotask, IT Glue, and RMM platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

• CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or PMI-ACP certification.
• Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and ISO 27001 / SOC 2 compliance requirements.
• Experience with Terraform, DevOps pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Work with a leading MSP on enterprise-level IT transformation projects.
