Summary:
The General Manager of Production is responsible for overseeing all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and quality. This role requires strategic leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. The position plays a key role in aligning production processes with organizational goals while managing budgets, fostering a strong team culture
Objectives
- Lead a metal fabrication Shop: OEM customer-based division. Components and assembly.
- Lead a team in Product Manufacturing: Production from prints to packaging.
Responsibilities
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of production managers, supervisors, and staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, implement lean manufacturing principles, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards through effective quality control systems and adherence to industry regulations.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage the production budget, track expenses, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining product quality.
- Safety & Compliance: Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, sales, and supply chain, to support product development and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field. 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, with demonstrated success in leading production teams.
- Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and P&L accountability.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety best practices.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Metal fabrication.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies, including IoT and automation.
- Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
