SkyWater Search Partners is looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee our accounting and financial control functions. This role is key to driving long-term business growth and supporting M&A strategy from initial sourcing through post-acquisition integration. In addition to leading the M&A process, this position holds primary responsibility for accounting and financial control, including budget setting, monitoring, and collaborating with department heads to keep income and expenditure on target.
This is an onsite position based in Minneapolis, MN. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.
Responsibilities
M&A Leadership: Lead all aspects of the M&A process independently, from deal sourcing and due diligence through integration
Financial Control and Budgeting: Develop and oversee budget-setting processes, monitor budgets to ensure income and expenditures remain within target, and proactively address variances
Team Management: Manage a team of four direct reports across multiple business units, fostering a high-performance environment focused on growth and operational excellence
Financial Strategy and Analysis: Provide data-driven insights to senior management, advising on financial implications of business decisions and developing strategies to support profitable growth
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with department heads to establish financial policies and procedures that support company-wide objectives while ensuring efficient budget adherence and financial discipline
Desired Skills And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management, with significant leadership experience, preferably within a global manufacturing organization.
Extensive experience with M&A activities, including buy-side M&A, financial integration, and financial oversight post-acquisition
Proven track record of setting and managing budgets, controlling financial performance, and working collaboratively with senior management to align financial and operational goals
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to develop high-performing finance teams
