Description
Skyworks Solutions seeks a Senior Principle Engineer of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) device development who will help with the development of thin film SAW resonators and filters. He / she will work closely with our engineering technical teams in Irvine CA and in Osaka Japan as a member of Skyworks’ acoustic development group – a group which supports the filter design team in improving / modeling the RF, nonlinear, and high-power performance of SAW devices.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience in designing / fabricating / characterizing SAW devices and test methodologies. Strong teamwork skills are required – that is the candidate must be able to collaborate well with other engineers to achieve divisional objectives. The candidate must be able to function effectively in a multi-cultural, multi-geographic environment. The candidate will be asked to travel to Asia frequently to facilitate collaboration across different design and development engineering sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship in Skyworks’ acoustic development group to advance BAW, and other MEMs technologies primarily working at the device level.
- Work closely with a technical team to :
- Analyze device data from advanced metrology systems including acoustic vibrometers and thermal imagers.
- Propose new ways to characterize, analyze, and model of state-of-the-art BAW devices.
- Analyze on-wafer statistics of key device parameters from which to develop models.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100 - $278,300 per year . Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick / wellness, parental leave), among others.
