This privately held general contractor, specializes in serving the healthcare, financial, corporate workplace, and industrial sectors across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions is seeking a detailed-oriented Construction Estimator for their Charlotte office. Their expertise spans new construction, renovations, and multi-site programs, utilizing various delivery methods including design-build.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing costs and preparing detailed estimates for construction projects. This role involves working closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
- Cost Estimation: Estimate costs of materials, labor, and equipment for projects based on contract bids, quotes, schematic drawings, and specifications.
- Tender Management: Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards, and conduct negotiations.
- Project Coordination: Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts. Manage and coordinate projects, including preparing progress schedules.
- Supplier Management: Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. Obtain quotes and negotiate favorable prices.
Qualifications:
- Education: Degree in a relevant field such as mechanical engineering, architecture, or construction management.
- Experience: 3 years of experience as a construction estimator.
- Skills: Excellent quantitative skills, ability to negotiate, and strong communication skills.
- Certifications: Qualifications in project management is a plus.
