Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our fast-growing team based in Charlotte, NC. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring accuracy and providing vital support to project teams during the bidding and planning phases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while delivering high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Takeoffs: Perform material takeoffs and quantities, using blueprints and project specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Bid Preparation: Work closely with project managers and subcontractors to develop competitive bids and proposals that meet project requirements.
- Contract Analysis: Review project contracts, plans, and specifications to identify potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
- Supplier/Subcontractor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather quotes and pricing, ensuring comprehensive and competitive bids.
- Budgeting: Assist in the development of project budgets and ensure all estimates align with the financial objectives of the project.
- Project Support: Provide ongoing cost analysis and support to the project team during the construction phase, adjusting estimates as necessary to reflect changes in scope or unforeseen challenges.
- Reporting: Prepare and present detailed estimate reports and bid breakdowns for senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 5 years of experience as an Estimator within the construction industry, with experience in both commercial and residential projects (preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimation software (e.g., ProEst, Buildertrend, PlanSwift, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis and estimations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, and vendors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and resolve challenges.
Salary : $110,000 - $140,000
