SLAM Apollo is looking for a dynamic leader to serve in the role of Assistant Principal for the 25-26 school year.
SLAM Apollo is a K–12 charter school, currently serving over 1200 students in Apollo Beach, Florida. As the school expands to a new state-of-the-art facility, SLAM Apollo seeks an Assistant Principal to support the growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Assistant Principal of SLAM Apollo plays a critical role in supporting the academic and operational success of the school. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for promoting a positive school culture, maintaining high academic standards, and ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations. This leadership position requires a dynamic, organized, and compassionate individual with a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
REQUIRED:
- Master’s Degree or higher or be in progress of earning degree
- Current Florida Educational Leadership Certificate or be in the process of earning a certificate
- At least one (1) year of successful experience on a school leadership team as evidenced by the most recent performance evaluation
- Strong knowledge of best practices, including curriculum, assessment, and student development
- Commitment to upholding SLAM Apollo’s mission and vision
PREFERRED:
· At least (5) five years of successful experience as a teacher as evidenced by performance evaluations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and School Culture
· Collaborate with the Principal to implement the school’s mission, vision, and strategic goals
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture for students, staff, and families
· Serve as a role model for professional behavior, ethics, and continuous learning
· Build and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members
Academic Excellence
· Support teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional delivery to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
· Oversee academic programs and interventions to support student achievement and growth
· Analyze student performance data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and implement strategies for improvement
· Provide constructive feedback to teachers through regular classroom observations and evaluations
Student Support and Discipline
· Manage student behavior and disciplinary processes in alignment with the school’s policies and values
· Promote restorative practices to address conflicts and foster a positive learning environment
· Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and families to support students' social-emotional development
· Lead initiatives to improve attendance and overall school culture
Staff Supervision and Development
· Assist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding high-quality staff members
· Support the professional growth of teachers and staff through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating professional development opportunities
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback to promote excellence
· Facilitate collaboration and team building among staff
Operational Management
· Oversee the implementation of school-wide policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment
· Coordinate and manage school schedules, events, and extracurricular activities
· Assist with budget planning, resource allocation, and facilities management as needed
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as charter school policies
Family and Community Engagement
· Actively engage families as partners in their children’s education
· Organize and participate in events that strengthen school-community relationships
· Communicate effectively and transparently with stakeholders about school policies, programs, and achievements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
