Director of Nursing (DON) Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team at Slate Valley Center in Granville, NY.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage all nursing staff in the facility to ensure high-quality care is provided to residents.
• Develop, implement, and maintain effective nursing policies and procedures.
• Oversight of the hiring and continued employment of nursing staff to ensure adequate staffing levels and skillsets.
• Evaluate and improve the skills and knowledge of nursing staff to meet the changing needs of residents.
• Lead by example and promote a culture of excellence in nursing practice, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
• Maintain awareness of incidents within the facility, assessing their impact on resident care and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct regular assessments of the health needs of each resident, developing and implementing individualized care plans to address their unique requirements.

Requirements:

• CURRENT STATE RN LICENSE REQUIRED.
• MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN LONG-TERM CARE WITH A PROVEN TRACK RECORD OF LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY SKILLS.
• MINIMUM 2 YEARS OF SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IN A NURSING ENVIRONMENT.
