We're looking to add someone who is a leader to join Slate's Human Resources Group. We make collaboration a high priority, and you will be a strategic advisor to senior management about your area of expertise. You will understand the business inside and out and will provide direction and leadership in all areas of HR to support Slate's objectives, principles.
This role provides Human Resource and Employee Relations leadership in: Human Capital planning, organization design, engagement, learning & development, recruitment, employment retention, performance management, employee relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, training, regulatory compliance.
As a strategic business partner to the Plant leadership team, you'll help develop policies and procedures, communicate them to individuals and groups, and ensure implementation. You will lead meetings, plan, organize, and direct plant human resource programs. This role offers the chance to build and lead a local Human Resource Team in a silo-free environment where the whole company collaborates as a unified whole. Your lead role in day-to-day people-related activities will be essential to developing and maintaining a workforce (salary and hourly) that will enable Slate to meet business objectives and continuous improvement objectives.
The work of this role involves complicated matters that need a considerable amount of initiative and an extremely high degree of independent judgment for decision making. Reports to the CHRO

- Build a plant culture from the ground floor of a facility launch
- Develop and drive the people experience
- Be a Safety Ambassador, supporting the Workplace Safety System
- Consult on initiatives within the People element of the Business Plan Deployment process and advise about the strategic direction/oversight for plant
- Support Manufacturing System and Positive People Experience implementation as needed
- Ensure proper oversight on culture and people for the site (e.g., active and successful HRM process, compliance with law and policies, proactive focus on employee issues, etc.)
- Plan and execute Talent Management and Progression/Succession reviews
- Utilize data analytics to drive decisions to move the business forward, relative to talent, negotiations, staffing strategies, etc.
- Drive diversity and inclusion strategies and efforts
- Conduct training sessions as required
- Participate in the interview/selection of new employees and Leadership positions
- Keep abreast of government legislation affecting personnel and employment policies and ensure conformance to legislated requirements or company needs
- Provide direction to employees to resolve questions about benefits, company policies, etc.
- Build sustainable partnerships within local community organizations
- Drive employee engagement together with plant leadership
- Administer local salaried employee performance review procedure and employment related policies and procedures
- Execute compensation planning and associated programs and processes to support a pay for performance philosophy
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10 years equivalent applicable Human Resources experience
- 3 years Manufacturing Plant experience
- 4 years as a People Leader/Management
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization
- Workday or Oracle HRIS experience
- Ability to teach and develop the organization in field of expertise
- Experience supporting large manufacturing site of 1,500 employee base on multiple shifts
- Strong change management experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Data Analytics capability (comfort with data/using data to tell stories)
- Ability to perform multi-disciplined HR responsibilities
- Business acumen (HR and Manufacturing)
- Strong influencing and command skills
- Comfort dealing with higher management independently
- Dealing with ambiguity
- Effective problem solving and decision-making capability
- Strong collaboration skills

- This role is categorized as onsite meaning the successful candidate is expected to report to Manufacturing Assembly Plant on a full-time basis.
