Senior Manager of Logistics
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Senior Manager to oversee and manage the third-party logistics operations for our fast-paced consumer goods company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, vendor relationships, supply chain optimization, and building internal partnerships with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing our day-to-day 3PL partners and company initiatives to ensure excellence in execution. Position has three direct reports that currently oversee inbound and outbound shipping and EDI. Position reports to Director of Operations. Position is remote on a daily basis, but local candidate is preferred as visits to the warehouse in New Jersey are required.
Key Responsibilities:
- 3PL Relationship Management:
- Closely driving and executing daily company initiatives within our 3PL partners including Ecommerce, Retailer Drop Ship, and Wholesale bulk orders.
- Monitor and manage 3PL operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, warehousing, order fulfillment, inventory management, and EDI.
- Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal demand surges by adjusting 3PL operations accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and partners.
- Logistics Optimization:
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Work with cross-functional teams such as sales, production, and marketing to optimize the supply chain flow.
- Implement best practices for inventory management, order fulfillment, and transportation.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Work with internal compliance team to ensure all logistics operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Conduct regular audits and performance reviews of third-party logistics operations.
- Address and resolve any quality or service issues, ensuring that customer satisfaction is maintained.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or operations management, with at least 2 years in a 3PL management role.
- Experience in managing third-party logistics providers for a consumer goods company is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- High attention to detail, ability to lead the function, and has an appropriate sense of urgency when needed.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations, customs processes, and international logistics (if applicable).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
