What are the responsibilities and job description for the DAEP Principal/CTE Coordinator position at Slaton High School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree
- Valid Administrator or Principal Certificate
- Minimum of two years, five years preferred, successful school administration experience.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: Direct and manage instructional program and supervise operations and personnel at DAEP Campus. Provide leadership to ensure high standards of instructional service and a positive school climate. Oversee compliance with district policies, success of instructional programs, and operation of all campus activities. Direct and manage district career and technology education program and facilities to meet student needs. Serve as instructional leader in the development and improvement of instructional programs in career and technology education.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Promotes student learning and achievement
- Act as campus behavioral coordinator in accordance with state laws and regulations.
- Work with faculty and students to develop a student discipline management system that results in
positive student behavior and enhances the school climate. - Establishes high expectations of student achievement
- Implements the school discipline plan that contributes to a school climate conducive to learning
- Maintains a high level of student school attendance
- Participates in after-school activity supervision
- Ensure that school rules are uniformly applied and that student discipline is appropriate and equitable
in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook. - Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers.
- Oversee the development of innovative career and technology instructional programs and ensure that curricular documents, instructional support materials, student assessment instruments, and admission criteria are in place for each program. Ensure that curriculum renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
- Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Recommend sound policies to improve career and technology education.
- Compile, maintain, file, and present reports, records, and other documents required.
- Develop training options and/or improvement plans to ensure effective operation of career and technology education department.
- Performs other duties as assigned
TERM: 12 months
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and district salary schedule
