Job Summary
We are looking for a Medical assistant to organize our medical facility’s functions. You will support day-to-day operations by performing clinical, technical and administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service for our patients. As a Medical assistant, you will perform various tasks on a daily basis. So, you should be able to multitask and prioritize, and to be able to handle criticism well. Speed, accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patients, including vitals and histories
- Perform EEGs - we will train
- Perform daytime sleep testing (MSLTs) - we will train
- Scoring of sleep records
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, including new patient appointments
- Prior authorizations for medicines
- Assist with clinical trials
- Verify patients' insurances in detail, including eligibility, benefits, and prior authorization requirements
- Update and maintain patients’ health records
- Assist patients with initial paperwork
- Use medical patient management and EMR software
- Answer patients’ queries and ensure quality customer service
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Medical assistant
- Hands on experience with medical software and MS Office
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Customer-oriented communication skills
- High school diploma
- Medical assistant certification by a national body is a plus
- Sleep technologist or EEG technologist skills are a plus
- Phlebotomy skills are a plus
Other things to know
- The interview will include skills testing
- We will perform a background check before hiring
- We will perform a urine drug test (looking for use of drugs of abuse including marijuana)
- Starting wage depends on skills and prior experience
- CPR/AED certification based on in-person testing required
- Annual flu vaccine required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour
