A hotel maintenance worker is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all aspects of a hotel's physical facilities, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, lighting, drywall, paint, caulking, carpet and guest room fixtures, by performing routine maintenance checks, responding to repair requests, and ensuring the overall functionality and appearance of the hotel remains in top condition for guests; this may involve tasks like fixing or replacing leaky faucets, toilet, clogged toilets or lines, doors, replacing light bulbs, repairing minor appliance issues, and addressing maintenance concerns as they arise.
Key responsibilities may include :
- Preventative maintenance : Conducting regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment to identify potential issues and perform preventative repairs to avoid breakdowns.
- Responding to maintenance requests : Promptly addressing guest and staff reports of maintenance issues, such as malfunctioning appliances, plumbing leaks, broken furniture, or faulty electrical outlets.
- Basic repairs : Performing minor repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, drywall, painting, caulking and minor repairs to flooring and fixtures.
- Equipment maintenance : Checking and servicing HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, laundry machines, and other mechanical systems.
