What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant General Manager position at Sleep Inn & Suites Oregon?

Reports To : General Manager

Scope :

Assists in managing the hotel's operations, maintaining established cost and quality standards.
Establishes a positive atmosphere and guest service attitude.
Assists with the maintenance and security of the hotel's assets.
Assists with local marketing of the hotel's products and services.
Assists with the development of the hotel's products and services.
Enforces policies and procedures established by Cornerstone Mgmt.

Primary Responsibilities :

Maintains personal contact with guests and with clients and the community organizations.

Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting periodic inspections, investigating complaints, and initiating corrective action.

Assists in reviewing accounting and management reports.

Compares actual performance to planned performance, identifies variances, and initiates corrective action.

Ensures adequate resources are maintained to maximize employee performance.

Ensures all positions are filled with qualified personnel.

Ensures established procedures are followed for employment / termination of staff.

Maintains procedures for orientation, training, and development.

Maintains established procedures for the periodic appraisal of all personnel.

Assists in reviewing and approving work schedules.

Assists in monitoring and maintaining procedures for control of supplies, keys, money, and credit.

Assists in monitoring and maintaining procedures for the safety of guests and personnel.

Responds to all emergency situations as needed, including locating and shutting down of gas valves, water valves, fire systems, and elevators.

Inspects guest rooms to ensure all rooms are up to cleanliness standards.

Trained and proficient in all departments : including maintenance, laundry, housekeeping, kitchen, banquet, bartending, set-up, and guest services.

Possesses a valid driver's license and be able to run hotel-related errands.

Salary : $38,000 - $42,000
