The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiological exams, Instructing patients on preparation for exams, processing images, answering telephones, scheduling exams, clerical duties required to maintain patient information in the radiology file and other duties as appointed by the department supervisor.

- Maintains confidentiality of all patients’ medical information.
- Maintains a well-organized and clean work environment
- The Radiologic Technologist will obtain the best possible Images with the available equipment to aid the physician/ radiologist in their interpretation.
- The Technologist receives electronic orders for all exams from providers and assures that all patient information is accurate.
- Technologist informs the patient of the reason for the procedure and how to prepare for exams where prior preparation is required
- Performs the exam and checks the images for accuracy and quality.
- Performs regular preventative maintenance on the radiology equipment according to the PM schedule.
- Performs daily start up and Quality control procedures on all Radiography and CT equipment.
- Answer telephones and schedule patient radiology exams as per department policy.
- Compile patient information necessary for examination ordered, i.e. complete questionnaires, obtain prior studies and reports, obtain diagnostic information relevant to the exam ordered.
- Provide patient information to radiologist with images to insure proper interpretation.
- Provide billing information to appropriate entities for proper billing of patients
- Acquires DR and CT imaging per protocol.
- Enter patient information into Meditech, CRTIS and PACs to ensure accuracy and provide information to radiologist for interpretation of images.
- Performance of Radiology procedures adhering to Radiation Safety policies on all clinic and hospital patients.
- Perform Quality Assurance procedures for Radiology and CT in accordance with established practices.
- Prepare images for sending to referral physicians and facilities via Medicom.
- Schedule and perform hook up procedures for Zio Monitors.
- Will follow all radiation safety policies and procedures
- Will follow all fire and electrical safety policies and procedures
- Perform EKG’s following Sleepy Eye Medical Center policy.
- Responsible for reviewing individual time card regularly and submitting revisions or time off forms to Manager timely.
- Perform other duties related to radiology as delegated by the Department Manager.
- Rotates on call duties with other Radiology staff to ensure 24 hour emergency Radiology and CT coverage. When on call is available in house within 20 minutes and is prepared to perform duties without delay.
- Attendance is essential to the workflow of the department.

Will work 8 hour shifts during the day. Weekend rotation every 6th or 7th weekend depending upon schedule. On call may include some weeknights and weekends.
