Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our construction/service firm as an Office Assistant and Bookkeeper. In this position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records with various accounting tasks, and supporting staff by performing various office tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the field of accounting, or with a construction firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer the phone in a professional manner; take accurate messages with complete information.
  • Collect and file information in an organized manner for easy retrieval and reference
  • Assist in office projects as needed
  • Assist & maintain the company's bookkeeping function on Sage 100 (Master Builder).
  • Verifying the accuracy of deliveries, invoices and other documents or records
  • Compiling data and preparing a variety of reports
  • Investigating questionable data
  • Full cycle Accounts Receivable
  • Full cycle Accounts Payable
  • Responsible for government filings related to certified payroll and prevailing wage – willing to train
  • Highly analytical and able to multi- task and meet deadlines
  • Meets deadlines, prioritizes company assignments and maintains professional composure under pressure and dynamic conditions
  • Other various administrative tasks and support to field crew as needed

Requirements:

  • Experience in Sage 100 (Master Builder) is a plus
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Organizational, verbal and written communication skills in English a must
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized and computer literate
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced office
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated, punctual, reliable and self-managed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
