Job Summary:
The High School ELAR Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in English Language Arts and Reading, fostering a love for literature and effective communication. The teacher will develop lesson plans aligned with state standards, assess student progress, and support students in developing strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills.
Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with state and district curriculum standards.
- Teach literature, composition, grammar, vocabulary, and analytical writing skills.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, discussion-based learning, and project-based assessments.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance student learning.
Assessment & Student Progress Monitoring:
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding.
- Analyze student performance data to guide instruction and improve outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback to students and communicate progress with parents and administration.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and success.
- Encourage student participation through discussions, presentations, and collaborative projects.
Collaboration & Professional Growth:
- Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student achievement.
