Job Summary:
The 5th Grade Math Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous mathematics instruction to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring academic success. The teacher will create lesson plans aligned with state standards, assess student progress, and provide support to help students master key math concepts.
Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Plan and implement effective math lessons aligned with state and district standards.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on activities, technology, and real-world applications, to engage students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those who require intervention or enrichment.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to measure student understanding.
- Analyze student performance data to guide instruction and improve outcomes.
- Communicate progress with students, parents, and administration.
Classroom Management & Student Engagement:
- Establish a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters respect, responsibility, and a love for learning.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to maintain a productive learning space.
Collaboration & Professional Growth:
- Work closely with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current on best practices in math instruction.
- Contribute to the school community through committee work, extracurricular involvement, or special projects.
