Summary
As a Shop Technician you will play a vital role in our operations by providing hands-on support for the repair and maintenance of sliding doors. This position is essential for maintaining our reputation for excellence in service and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and replacements on sliding door mechanisms and components.
- Assist in the assembly and preparation of materials for installation.
- Utilize carpentry skills to ensure precise measurements and cuts.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in frame carpentry or related fields.
- Basic knowledge of remodeling techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction site practices and safety protocols.
- Strong skills in caulking, building, and assembly tasks.
- Experience with construction estimating is beneficial but not required.
- Maintenance Person skills are advantageous for diverse project needs.
- Knowledge of metal stud framing techniques is a plus.
- Spanish language is not required, but a plus

In this key position you are the first line of support for the owner and office staff.
You will be responsible to build new sliding screen doors and new screen windows in shop. Cut glass in the shop, sell parts, help customers as they walk in and management with anything they need. Driving and dropping off work done in shop will be also part of the job and measuring for screen doors and windows. When needed to also assist in all screen work required and also assist in making glass insulated units and assisting technicians by troubleshooting and repairing commercial/residential sliding glass doors, door locks/handles, glass replacement, window repair, Shower Enclosures and more when needed as a backup.
Included in this position is the requirement of providing warranty service work for door and window manufacturers. In this role you are going to be lifting and carrying very heavy doors and windows and performing installations as well as repairs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Include:
***Building sliding screen doors and screen windows is required
- Clean driving record with current, valid FL driver's license. This is REQUIRED and no way around it.
- Able to provide transportation to/from work (office located in Lutz, FL)
- You do not use your own car to go to customer's houses, all work is done using our company vehicle
- Mechanically inclined with a demonstrated ability to understand and work with common power tools
- Must be able to work with fellow employees & supervisor and adhere to what you are told to do
- Must be available Monday – Friday between 8am – 5pm
- Communication skills (in English)-- in person and written skills
- Positive attitude with superior customer service skills
- Customer service oriented and polity
- Must be able to lift very heavy doors, windows and glass and carry these items in distances
- Must be able to follow instructions
- Must pass a background and drug screening test
- Must show up at the office clean
- Must demonstrate ability to drive company vehicle
- Must be neat and clean in appearance
- Any employee who cannot perform to these standards may be discharged at any point in time by employer
