JV2 Softball Coach

This position is an after-school position. The work schedule is generally from 2:45PM – 6:00PM, depending on the game schedule. Job responsibilities include organizing and conducting team practices, game supervision, and other tasks assigned. This position reports directly to the head coach, athletic director and high school principal. Season runs from March 17 through May 23, 2025.

Duties:
- Develop and implement practice plans and strategies for the softball team
- Provide instruction and guidance on softball techniques, skills, and game strategies
- Organize and lead team practices, drills, and scrimmages
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Coordinate team participation in games, tournaments, and other events
- Foster a positive and supportive team environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games

Experience:
- Previous experience coaching softball or a related sport is preferred
- Knowledge of softball rules, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate with players, parents, and staff
- Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels
- Strong organizational skills to manage practice schedules, equipment, and team logistics

Skills:
- Background in physical education or related field (preferred)
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders as needed for field maintenance or equipment setup
- Experience in childcare or working with young athletes
- Experience in behavior management to maintain discipline and sportsmanship among players
