What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Solutions Engineering position at Slingshot Aerospace?
What You’ll Do :
As the Director of Solutions Engineering, you will support Slingshot’s pursuit of new space-systems-related opportunities by architecting technical solutions to unmet customer needs and by developing compelling and compliant technical volume materials in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). You will support customer engagements to include providing subject matter expertise, performing hardware / software demonstrations, supporting teaming activities, providing technical writing / presentations, and developing mature technical baselines that provide discriminating solutions to our customers. You will develop clear value propositions with the team and articulate these to customers. You will lead technical proposal volumes and oral demonstrations, conduct technology trades, and build compelling visuals and demonstration materials to help win new business.
Position Responsibilities :
- Execute all position responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s core values, mission, and purpose
- Form trusted working relationships with customers, end users, business partners, and fellow Slingshooters
- Act as a technical lead for new business captures, lead solutioning activities, and provide subject matter expertise; help create repeatable processes
- Help shape new business opportunities and translate customer needs to enable requirement generation and interpretation thereof
- Develop responses for requests for information (RFIs), requests for quote (RFQs), white papers, presentations, and customer briefings
- Write compelling and compliant technical proposals in response to RFPs, and support cost proposal generation
- Develop high-level designs that align to customer requirements and user operations, and that leverage our internal engineering capabilities
- Articulate the technical and business value of our solutions to stakeholders
- Maintain understanding of all Slingshot products and capabilities, stay up to date on new developments and technologies
- Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)

Compensation : $180,000 - $200,000 Base Variable
