Machine Operator

We are a new fresh produce wholesale, packing, cold storage, and logistics facility opening soon located in Vineland and are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Operator to join our team. Familiarity with Giro machines is a plus.

A Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. A Machine Operator monitors the quantitative and qualitative production of their assigned machines and works closely with the Team Leader for the purpose of achieving aligned results. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting outgoing product packaging and adjusting as necessary to maintain quality specifications

Duties

· Set up and operate production machines.

· Work with Team Leaders to ensure machines are working at full capacity (quality pending) to ensure timely production of products per customer specification.

· Work with Team Leaders to determine completion timeline, monitor progress, and operate assigned machines to ensure timely and accurate production.

· Monitor production materials for machines and prep necessary items before they are needed to ensure timely changeover of production materials.

· Locate, retrieve, and cover production materials.

· Monitor outgoing product for machine related packaging errors or defects and make necessary adjustments to machine settings to correct related packaging errors or defects.

· Monitor quantitative machine performance and make necessary adjustments to machine settings to complete orders accurately and in a timely fashion.

· When problems arise with machinery, Machine Operators must analyze situations and find solutions. This may include analyzing machine schematics and diagrams, fixing the situation individually, working with another Machine Operator, or contacting outside support, in order to find solutions in a timely fashion.

· Identify parts in need of repair or replacement, note part numbers, and report to Production Manager for ordering.

· Identify areas for improvement and/or problems on your assigned machines; work with the Production Manager to determine a course of action and implement improvement and corrective actions in these areas.

· Work with attention to detail and safety standards.

· Perform any routine calibration and keep records.

· Have a strong understanding of machines you are assigned to operate.

· Maintain activity logs.

· Operate assigned machines in accordance with GMP’s and current certifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production/warehouse facility is preferred.
• Proficiency in operating machines, particularly GIRO highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing production needs.

Pay: From $21.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week

Experience:

• Machining: 2 years (Preferred)
