Summary:
The Director of Business Development will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, establishing and maintaining relationships with potential clients, and being the face of the company in the marketplace. This individual will act as a liaison between the firm and clients, manage key partnerships, and drive growth through strategic lead generation and networking efforts. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of architecture, construction, and interior design industries, and a passion for building lasting business relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Generation & Business Development:
o Identify and generate new business opportunities across all service lines (architecture, construction, engineering and interior design)
o Research and target prospective clients
o Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm’s client base and market reach
- Client Relationship Management:
o Act as the primary point of contact for potential and existing clients, building strong, lasting relationships
o Manage all phases of the client lifecycle, from initial lead generation to project completion
o Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers and design teams to ensure client satisfaction and successful project execution
- Marketing and Networking:
o Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote services and expand brand presence
o Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling presentations, proposals, and marketing materials
o Maintain a strong online presence through social media and industry platforms to attract leads and build the company's reputation
- Project Coordination & Liaison Role:
o Serve as a liaison between clients and the firm’s internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the business development process
o Coordinate with design, architecture, and construction teams to prepare tailored proposals and presentations
o Oversee proposal and bid submission process, ensuring timely delivery of high quality submissions
- Strategic Planning & Reporting:
o Develop and track business development goals, pipeline reports, and sales performance metrics
o Regularly report on business development activities and outcomes to senior leadership
o Analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform strategies and tactics
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the architectural, construction, engineering or interior design industries
- Proven track record of generating leads, securing new business, and building long-term client relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Google Workspace, CRM software, and business development tools
- Ability to work from the office 3 days a week, with flexibility to work remotely on the remaining days
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $131,385.00 - $146,522.00 per year
