As a Scientist II, Biochemistry, you will play a critical role in development of our product offerings. You will be responsible for development work associated with our catalog, custom and next generation product portfolios, specifically, the conjugation of biomolecules to our cell mimics, and subsequent flow cytometry based QC. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the products meet customer needs and subsequent tech transfer to our process development and manufacturing teams. This role requires a motivated, strategic thinker with a track record for problem solving in a fast-paced start up environment.
Responsibilities- Execution and delivery
- Work on our custom product portfolio for flow cytometry controls
- Contribute to the product development process, ensuring that the products are delivered on time, and meet the product specifications
- Develop next generation product portfolio in the field of cell & gene therapy
- Innovation
- Conduct literature reviews to identify new product ideas
- Troubleshoot challenges and drive solution based experimental work
- Collaborate with commercial teams on market landscape
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Develop new assays and contribute to product improvements
- Contribute to a positive, proactive and transparent work environment to ensure alignment across all teams
- Write up and transfer protocols to move products from the proof of concept stage to scaled-up, high throughput production in manufacturing.
Requirements
- Ph.D & 2 years of relevant industry experience
- Background in biochemistry, protein chemistry, chemical biology, synthetic chemistry, or an equivalent field
- Experience with conjugation chemistry, and handling of proteins in solution
- Additional skillsets preferred:
- Flow cytometry
- Protein expression and basic molecular biology
- Protein purification
- Tech transfer experience
- Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively. Detailed record keepings.
- Candidates must be local in Northern California or willing to relocate for the position - this is a fully on-site position
