What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Slippery Rock Campground?

SUMMARY Maintains grounds of the Association; constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment; works with 3rdparty contractor for water, sewage and pool treatments; installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Handles assigned work orders and PMs and logs maintenance work.
  • Solving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on various facility equipment.
  • Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance work.
  • (Dis)assembling/installing new machines, condition monitoring sensors, equipment, etc.
  • Evaluating, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC systems in the building
  • Maintaining the fire, carbon monoxide, smoke, and other safety systems.
  • Servicing, diagnosing, and repairing all fleet vehicles.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
  • Communicates existing and potential issues with supervisor.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the tools you work with.
  • Abiding by different safety measures and policies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Knowledge of water and sewage treatment and pool maintenance a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprints and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of related OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee works in indoor and outdoor conditions that may be in excessive heat, cold, extreme weather, excessive humidity or dampness/chilling; excessive noise, slippery and uneven walking surfaces; work around machinery and vehicles with moving parts, work in close proximity to others; exposure to electrical shock; exposure to moderate noise; exposure to offensive odors, possible exposure to noxious fumes.

This role requires the individual to be able to process and communicate technical information and problems, discuss opposing points of view and collaborate and explore alternative solutions; organize and prioritize thoughts, ideas and own work schedule; apply common sense, analyze and make decisions which have significant impact on the immediate work and monitor impact outside of the immediate work unit; express written and spoken word for internal and external communications and compose materials such as reports; use basic mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and to record, balance and check results for accuracy.
