What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computing and Security Faculty position at Slippery Rock University?
The Department of Computing and Security at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a regular part-time faculty beginning in Fall 2025 to teach undergraduate courses in the cybersecurity major. The candidate will teach one 3 credit course per semester. These courses will include computer science and cybersecurity courses related to the major. All classes will be taught in-person at the SRU main campus. The department offers a B.S. degree in Cybersecurity with concentrations in Secure Software Development and Security Governance. The B.S. degree in Cybersecurity with concentration in Secure Software Development is a Validated Program Study (POS) as per NSA/DOD requirements and the university is seeking NSA/DOD CAE designation FY 2025. Some of the topic areas for the courses to be taught by the candidate may include: collaborative information technology and society, cybersecurity in the era of evolving technology, secure programing, malware analysis, software security analysis, software assurance, practical computer security, and may include cybersecurity governance topics. Job duties require quality performance in teaching and other duties as assigned. Full consideration to applications received by March 7, 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
MS in Computer Science or closely related field with work experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
Commitment to the education of diverse populations.
Experience in teaching or assistance in teaching computer science and/or cybersecurity courses at the college or university level and/or certifications in cybersecurity.
Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration.

Preferred Qualifications
