JOB STRUCTURE AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Exempt, part-time employee status
- Schedule days: Monday - Thursday, 17.5 hours/week
- Attends monthly staff meetings and required training
- Reports to the Director of Lower Campus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Required:2 years of experience teaching and/or leading in a classroom setting.
A Bachelor’s degree in education or an equivalent area of study is required.
Experience with Classical Education is highly desirable.
A basic understanding of technology, including knowledge of Word, Pages, Excel, Google, etc.; Mac literacy is desirable.
Other requirements for employment include a current First Aid/CPR certification and Live Scan clearance through SLO Classical Academy.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cover subject area of music while inspiring the developing curiosity, which is characteristic of the Grammar Stage
- Collaborate with grade-level teaching teams to provide an enriching, thoughtful, and developmentally appropriate curriculum that incorporates the tenets of Classical Education at SLOCA
- Provide quality instruction and learning opportunities for students in all grade levels
- Spend a reasonable amount of time out of class on curricula development, lesson planning, and preparing to provide in-class services
- Attend and take part in various school events
- Attend necessary meetings such as IEPs, Family Action Plans, department, and team meetings, etc.
- Provide a safe environment and supervision at all times while creating a positive learning space
- Openly communicating with families and staff at all levels
- Developing and implementing daily and weekly lesson plan activities that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program
- Perform other duties as required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Able to lift to 50 pounds on a limited basis. Able to stand, kneel, bend, stoop, and move around campuses easily for extended periods. Able to work irregular hours to attend or support meetings, school events, etc.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $22,000.00 - $25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: No less than 17.5 per week
