What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Adjuster position at Slocum Orthopedics?
We are looking for an experienced insurance accounts receivable specialist for our large Orthopedics practice. At least one year experience in insurance follow up preferred, but will train the right person. At least one year experience in healthcare mandatory. Duties include contacting insurance companies to follow up on payment, working denials, providing medical records and forms and acting upon correspondence. This position also provides phone support to our incoming business office line 1 - 2 days per week. Experience using NextGen a plus. Computer skills such as word processing, e-fax and email mandatory.

Prior experience in healthcare industry required. Insurance AR experience desired, workers compensation a plus. Must be highly organized, able to work independently as well as in a team and have the ability to work under stress.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving
several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to remain calm in demanding situations.
