What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor position at SLOGCC?
San Luis Obispo Country Club is a private country club nestled in the beautiful Edna Valley among hills and vineyards in San Luis Obispo, California. Our golf course and practice areas are the finest in the area and always in top condition. In addition to golf, we have 6 tennis courts, and a heated pool for year-round exercising or just splashing around with the kids.
As a Swim Instructor at SLOCC, you will:
- Maintain all necessary class records as determined by the Swim Program Guidelines
- Employ methods and teaching techniques consistent & approved by the Red Cross
- Fill out completion cards for each student
- Correspond with members who are scheduled for lessons (missed lesson, illness, etc...)
- Keep attendance records of those students in lessons
- Send timely attendance & lesson charges to Aquatics Director (daily and/or weekly)
- Maintain a courteous, polite and helpful relationship with all program participants & family
- Participate in final lesson celebration party
- Send post-session correspondence with member to encourage and/or make a recommendation on the continuation of building upon the skills learned in the program through additional lessons.
- Report all complaints, emergencies, & hazards to Aquatics Director
- Serve as a lifeguard when instructed by the Aquatics Director (with appropriate certification)
Job Qualifications/Experience:
- 1-3 years experience working in Aquatics (preferred but not required)
Licenses / Certifications:
- Water Safety Instructor certification (preferred)
- CPR/AED certification
Job Requirements:
All applicants must be available to work weekends & holidays when needed
All applicants must have current CPR certification (we can certify if expired or needed)
Salary: $23 - $30 per hour DOE
