Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to the daily menu, ensuring meals meet nutritional requirements and resident preferences.
Follow specific dietary guidelines for residents with special dietary needs, such as low-sodium, diabetic, or pureed diets.
Assist in menu planning, ensuring meals are varied, appealing, and meet the dietary needs of elderly residents.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by following all health and safety standards, including proper food storage, sanitation, and handling procedures.
Ensure proper portion control and food safety procedures are followed to minimize waste and ensure safe food handling.
Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies.
Work closely with the nursing and dietary staff to address any specific dietary needs of residents.
Adhere to dietary restrictions and cultural preferences as requested by residents or family members.
Participate in the preparation and presentation of food for special events or celebrations.
Maintain records related to food preparation, food temperatures, and cleaning logs as required by state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting (nursing home, hospital, etc.).
