PLANT & MAINT. SUP

Position Summary: 

The Maintenance Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility. This includes ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Director will manage a team of maintenance staff, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Oversee daily maintenance operations of the facility, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Maintain and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility systems and equipment are in optimal working condition.
• Ensure the facility complies with all state, federal, and local regulations, including safety and health codes.
• Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, providing training and support.
• Respond to emergency maintenance issues and requests promptly.
• Manage maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective practices.
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors and vendors for larger repairs or specialized work.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and renovations as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.

Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant technical certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, ideally within a healthcare or nursing home environment.
• Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and walking.
