Position Summary:
The Maintenance Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing all maintenance operations within the facility. This includes ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Director will manage a team of maintenance staff, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily maintenance operations of the facility, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
- Maintain and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure facility systems and equipment are in optimal working condition.
- Ensure the facility complies with all state, federal, and local regulations, including safety and health codes.
- Supervise and mentor the maintenance team, providing training and support.
- Respond to emergency maintenance issues and requests promptly.
- Manage maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective practices.
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors and vendors for larger repairs or specialized work.
- Assist with facility improvement projects and renovations as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, ideally within a healthcare or nursing home environment.
- Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, and walking.
