Summary
To support the Sr. Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department. To relieve the Sr. Finance Manager of certain responsibilities that will allow the Controller to spend a greater portion of time on Financial Statement preparation, analysis, budget and variance issues, and supporting Plant Operations in identifying and improving tracking and transactional processes which directly impact financial performance. The Accounts Payable – General Ledger Accountant should of such a caliber skill and education-wise to be capable of standing in for the Sr. Finance Manager for brief periods, if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Compiles, processes, and maintains accounts payable records.
- Support monthly and annual closing and reporting process.
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
- Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable, debit memos).
- Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs.
- Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit various government filings.
- Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers.
- Investigates questionable data and recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Track, monitor and report construction in progress and reimbursable tooling and capital projects.
- Investigate operating variances which arise to determine where adjustments are required.
- Perform such other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice – by the Sr. Finance Manager.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience/education preferred; candidates with an Associates degree or significant progress toward Bachelor’s degree will be considered
Experience
- Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing Accounts Payable and General Ledger support role.
- Prior experience with Plex or similar ERP system.
