The qualified candidate will have 8 or more years of experience in air quality consulting or related disciplines. Candidate must be willing to work 32 hours per week. Job Description
Required Technical Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related scientific field required;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in air quality consulting, or related disciplines;
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment; handling multiple project assignments; meeting strict deadlines, providing high-quality work products, and traveling to client facilities as needed;
- Strong spreadsheet/calculation skills for industrial sources;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and organization/analytical skills;
- Ability and desire to mentor and recruit junior staff;
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, such as Title V, PSD, GHG Reporting, NSPS, and NESHAP;
- Experience with air compliance and permitting;
- Experience with reporting programs such as air emissions inventory, greenhouse gases, annual/semi-annual air permit reports, annual air compliance certifications, monthly air permit reports;
- Understanding of industrial operations and combustion equipment;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software;
- Possess valid driver’s license;
- Preferred Technical Skills and Experience
- Experience with technical writing, and communication with state and federal agencies;
- Experience with petroleum and or chemical industry process;
- Experience with maintaining compliance of federal and State air quality regulations, especially PSD, NSPS, NESHAP, GHGRR, and other relevant programs;
- Permitting, auditing, and other general air quality experience;
- Strong analytical, organizational, and multi ‐ tasking skills; detail oriented;
- Self-motivated and market-facing as a consultant;
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to manage others doing supporting tasks; and
- Ability to interface with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Provide air quality permitting and regulatory compliance support to industrial clients;
- Analyze industrial processes and operations to quantify air pollutant emissions;
- Perform emissions estimate calculations to aid in permitting, emissions inventories, and annual compliance reporting;
- Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability determinations and compliance tasking;
- Lead teams in preparing calculations using spreadsheets, databases, third party software, and process simulation software to quantify air emissions from industrial sources;
- Provide compliance assistance for clients including data management, document review, and development of compliance tools;
- Work with clients from a variety of industries in various locations of the United States;
- Travel to clients’ facilities for inspections and document review;
- Conduct field site visits to inventory air pollutant emission sources and collect data necessary to quantify emissions and assess compliance with air quality permit terms and regulations;
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments;
- Identify client opportunities, scope project efforts, and write winning proposals;
- Prepare and use data management systems and tools to track compliance with permit requirements and air regulations and prepare compliance reports; and
- Lead consultations and negotiations with state and federal regulatory agencies with or on behalf of clients
