We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500 coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are Making Sustainability Happen.
As our new entry-level Engineer or Scientist, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

- The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently complete tasks in support of air quality-related compliance reporting, permitting, stakeholder communication, and field data collection
- Interact with project team members to steward compliance reports and permit applications through the review process to delivery
- Understand and utilize compliance tracking and reporting software tools
- Provide technical understanding related to projects (e.g., regulatory requirements, compliance obligations)
- Assist clients with compliance programs
- Proactively work with SLR project managers to maintain a sustainable workload
- Short-duration travel to visit project locations and attend meetings
- While this is a long-term, full-time position, the successful candidate will work approximately 50 percent of the time for a period of 2 to 3 years as a representative of SLR in a client’s office located in Anchorage, AK.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related scientific field
- Previous experience in the areas of air quality permitting and compliance consulting is a plus
- 0-2 years of experience solving environmental problems, calculating air quality emissions, and interpreting permits and environmental regulations
- Technical writing skills and experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite software and PDF software
- Ability to visit industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Attention to detail, including excellent proofreading and writing skills
- Logical and methodical problem solving
- Effective time management of multiple project tasks
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of budgets and deadlines
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Proactive in seeking work tasks
- Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills
