SLR International Corporation is seeking a Staff/Project Geologist, Hydrogeologist, or Environmental Engineer/Scientist with 0 to 5 years of experience to join our growing Glastonbury, Connecticut operations. The selected candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership and knowledge to a wide range of clients.
Our various technical service lines partner with our diverse client base to support environmental due diligence, environmental permitting and compliance assurance, and site investigation and remediation. Many of the services are provided in support of site redevelopment including Brownfield redevelopment. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Sciences or related scientific field.

Required Qualifications
Job Description
- Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrology or Environmental Sciences/Engineering or related field
- 5-10 years relevant experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Possess current driver’s license
- Ability to perform field work
- Ability to mentor lower level staff
- Knowledge of basic groundwater principles
- Understanding of soil and groundwater remediation (e.g., methods, chemistry)
- Understanding of field work tasks such as soil sampling, groundwater sampling, borehole logging, well installation, soil-vapor sampling, soil and groundwater remediation, site reconnaissance, and subcontractor oversight
- Capability for critical thought and problem solving
- Ability to contribute to the development of technical documents
- Excellent technical writing skills

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports
- Focus on team project delivery, taking direction primarily from Project Managers or Project Directors
- Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments
- Assist with preparation of cost estimates for site investigations and remediation
- Utilize geologic data to design monitoring and remediation wells
- Provide oversight on environmental remediation projects, and operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems
- Coordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services
- Conduct field work, including soil, sediment, aquifer testing, drilling oversight and soil logging, soil boring and monitoring well installation, well development, construction oversight, and groundwater and surface water sampling
- Willingness to assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
- Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities
