SLR International Corporation is seeking a Water Resource Engineer Intern to join our busy Cheshire, Connecticut operations. This role offers candidates the opportunity to work on a wide range of water-resource-related projects, including stream and river restoration, bank erosion monitoring, turbidity reduction, flood mitigation, geomorphic assessment, and design of culverts to accommodate aquatic organism passage. This temporary position is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing international environmental consulting organization.
SLR offers internships to help students get practical work experience in their chosen field. Schedules vary depending on the opportunity. Internships are non-benefit eligible positions and generally last for up to six months. This is a summer internship beginning in June through August 2022.

Working with professional staff and mentors, the intern will perform assignments designed to utilize and develop their professional skills and knowledge that are essential in their chosen field. The intern will assist project teams in the coordination of projects from conception through final plan preparation, fieldwork, analysis, design-related tasks, and preparation of technical reports. The intern will work on multiple, unique assignments simultaneously and will need to possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Full time student currently enrolled in an educational field of study at a 4-year degree program from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and other relevant computer software-related programs
- Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling approaches and programs
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software
- Interest in helping the community
- Current valid driver’s license
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Teamwork
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn
