Essential Job Functions:
Provides direct supervision to assigned nursing
staff.
Maintains adequate nursing coverage for their
assigned location and/or program(s).
Works as part of a larger operational team of
supervisors and directors overseeing clinical programming design,
implementation, and delivery that is consistent with model fidelity.
Implements and ensures consistent use of the
electronic medical record, pursuant to agency policy and procedures.
Communicates effectively with staff orally,
in writing, and through general staff meetings to assure appropriate
operation of nursing unit.
Attends required trainings and meetings and
relays information to nursing team.
Ensures effectiveness and efficiency through
the establishment of process and outcome measures.
Reviews charts and data and initiates
performance improvement activities accordingly.
Advances and encourages innovative ideas for
improving the overall effectiveness of the nursing program.
Communicates policies and procedures to
assigned personnel.
Ensures a competent and effective staff by
directing their selection, development, training, supervision and
on-going evaluation.
Ensures professional, positive, accurate and
effective coordination with internal/external departments/agencies.
Facilitates and disseminates findings from
audits.
Creates and implements corrective action
plans (CAP) when required.
Assures that the agency infection control
plan is implemented within Pinegrove programs.
Performs related work as required.
Qualification Requirements: To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be

Minimum Education and/or Experience: Current Florida
licensure as Registered Nurse. A minimum of five years of mental health and
chemical dependency experience, with demonstrated competency in the effects
and manifestations of mental illness and substance abuse on adults. A minimum of three (3) years of
progressively responsible supervisory experience, preferably in a crisis
stabilization, ARF, or Detox setting.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:
Knowledgeable and demonstrates competence in various aspects of nursing
management and supervision
Knowledgeable and demonstrates competency in current principles
and practices related to nursing care of clients with substance use, mental
health, and co-occurring diagnosis.
Must demonstrate competence in administrative and supervisory
skills in dealing with subordinate personnel, effective communication
and ability to engage diverse client populations and families.
Must demonstrate a current working knowledge and understand the
application of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, as it relates to
management and supervision of licensed registered and practical nurses.
Knowledgeable and understanding of rules, regulations, safety
procedures, state, federal and local laws, and legislative requirements
pertaining to treatment programs and program compliance.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with
other employees, program staff, clients, outside organizations, and
others.
Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida driver's license, acceptable driving
record, and proof of personal automobile insurance if required to drive an
SMA vehicle and/or use a personal vehicle for SMA business. Complete State of
Florida mandatory background screening prior to start of employment. Complete SMA required training during the
first six (6) months of employment and updated if required.
Physical: Mobility and ability to bend and
reach during an 8-12 hour day. Able to lift minimum 10 pounds. Visual and
auditory acuity sufficient to evaluate, intervene, treat, and record client
health care needs. Fine motor skills for legible and accurate charting, daily
correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally. Work endurance
ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, as possible. Routine
8-12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extra hours may be
required. Work assignment locations may vary.
