Job Summary
The Elementary School Principal serves as the instructional leader and administrative head of the school. The principal is responsible for fostering a safe, positive, and productive learning environment for students, supporting effective teaching practices, supervising faculty and staff, managing school operations, and engaging with parents and the broader community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
Lead the implementation of curriculum and instructional practices aligned with state and district standards.
Support professional development for teachers and staff.
Monitor and evaluate classroom instruction for effectiveness.
Use data to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
School Climate & Culture
Promote a safe and respectful school environment.
Implement positive behavior support systems and student discipline policies.
Creates a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff.
Staff Supervision & Evaluation
Hire, supervise, and evaluate certified and classified staff.
Facilitate collaboration among staff members.
Ensure compliance with district policies and state/federal regulations.
Monitors, assists, and evaluates effective instruction and assessment practices.
Family & Community Engagement
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community partners.
Encourage parental involvement and volunteerism.
Partners with the school community to promote student learning.
School Operations
Develop and manage the school budget in alignment with district priorities.
Oversee daily operations, including schedules, transportation, food service, and facilities.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and emergency protocols.
Manages both staff and fiscal resources to support student achievement and legal responsibilities.
