What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at SmaK Plastics Inc.?
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
We are looking for someone with a positive, solution-oriented mindset who is willing to learn about rotational molding and is passionate about uncovering the strengths of their team members. This person should be willing to do whatever is required to motivate their team including jumping in to help when necessary. However, we will provide on the job training and support for the right candidate with the right mindset.
OBJECTIVES
- Keep operators safe by following all safety processes and procedures and building a safety culture
- Be an advocate for SmaK's goals and objectives as well as employee needs and ambitions
- Set the tone for your team by maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude
- Stay on top of new hire training and retraining based on training materials as well as feedback from Quality, Process Engineers and the Production Manager
- Set an example for your team through clear and consistent communication, reliability, and friendliness
- Checking parts and identify causes of quality concerns
- Maintain consistency and drive improvement to production efficiencies.
- Deliver monthly reviews and set goals for production improvement, and provide paperwork to keep in employee files
- Host start of shift meetings to ensure employees are ready and excited for the day (First 5-10 min of the shift)
- Fill in during slow production times and absences
- Approve timecards and manage employee overtime
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Manage a team of approx. 10 direct reports
- Stand for the duration of a 9-hour shift
- Maintain a flexible schedule as supervisors will frequently have to come in an hour early or stay an hour late
Will report directly to the Production Manager.
