Production Supervisor - Graveyard

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

This position is responsible for motivating a team of machine operators to achieve maximum productivity and quality while remaining safe and upbeat! While leadership experience is a must, machining experience is not required. Instead, we are looking for someone with a positive, solution-oriented mindset who is willing to learn about rotational molding and is passionate about uncovering the strengths of their team members. This person should be willing to do whatever is required to motivate their team including jumping in to help when necessary. However, we will provide on the job training and support for the right candidate with the right mindset.

OBJECTIVES

• Keep operators safe by following all safety processes and procedures and building a safety culture
• Be an advocate for company's goals and objectives as well as employee needs and ambitions
• Set the tone for your team by maintaining a positive and upbeat attitude
• Stay on top of new hire training and retraining based on training materials as well as feedback from Quality, Process Engineers and the Production Manager
• Set an example for your team through clear and consistent communication, reliability, and friendliness
• Limit non-conforming parts by checking parts and identifying causes of quality concerns
• Maintain consistency and drive improvement to production efficiencies: Rounds, Mold changes, Quality…
• Deliver monthly reviews and set goals for operator improvement, and provide paperwork to keep in employee files
• Host start of shift meetings to ensure employees are ready and excited for the day (First 5-10 min of the shift)
• Fill in for operators during slow production times and absences
• Keep the powder area, scrap area, and machines clean and organized
• Approve timecards and manage employee overtime

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Manage a team of approx. 10 direct reports
• Stand for the duration of a 9-hour shift
• Maintain a flexible schedule as supervisors will frequently have to come in an hour early or stay an hour late
• Carry heavy loads (up to 40 lbs) up/down stairs semi-frequently
• Use air tools and vibratory tools
• Bend, reach, push and pull heavy loads frequently
• Frequently lift up to 60 pounds independently and more with a partner
• Work in hot conditions (75-100F)

Will report directly to the Production Manager and operate in a small team of two other supervisors.

Must be willing to support company's objectives through shift flexibility. Occasionally supervisors will have to cover other shifts in the absence of another supervisor.

8-hour schedule:

• Graveyard: 11pm-7:30am Sunday-Thursday
• Day: 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
• Swing: 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
