Job Title: Unix Administrator (L3 Support)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Unix Administrator to provide Level 3 (L3) support for our client in Santa Clara, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Unix/Linux systems administration within large, distributed environments, and a proven track record of managing complex system issues, performance tuning, and ensuring system security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advanced System Administration: Manage and maintain Unix/Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
- Incident and Problem Management: Provide L3 support by diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance system efficiency.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols, conduct regular system audits, and ensure compliance with organizational security policies.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using Shell, Python, or Perl to automate routine tasks and improve system management efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, developers, and support staff, to ensure seamless integration and support of applications and services.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and changes.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: /Linux administration experience in enterprise-level environments. Built In
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Linux (Red Hat) and familiarity with Solaris operating systems.Built In
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and associated technologies (NFS, NIS, DNS, DHCP).Built In
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V. LinkedIn
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex system issues and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
