SUMMARY:

Responsible for programming support and optimization of manufacturing systems, devices and processes. Evaluation, development, construction, commission, handover, optimization and maintenance of technologies, production equipment and processes in support of all SPT global manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Hands on working with team to build machine and solve production machine issues 
  • ndependent implementation of projects as a project lead
  • Finding solutions to problems in the area of automation/programming, control technology and electronics
  • Calculation, design, selectin and procurement of suitable components
  • Assembly, commissioning and optimization of plants and systems in the area of automation
  • Programming of PLC controls, user interfaces, vision applications and the like
  • Creation of circuit and logic diagrams as well as wiring schematics and wire lists using CAD
  • Troubleshooting, repair and general maintenance in the area of control technology in production plants.
  • Remote maintenance and assistance via email/Skype for problems with systems abroad
  • Creation of documentation, instructions, work instructions and troubleshooting guides
  • Support for maintenance in the area of building automation
  • Process engineering, process optimization
  • Process descriptions and transfers as well as support of branches within the overseas group
  • Propose and assess systems and processes from external providers with regard to their suitability for the company
  • Support Purchasing, Sales, Shipping departments with technology for questions in the area of responsibility
  • Support for production in the field of electrical engineering, electronics
  • Monitoring the development of technologies that are of interest to SPT

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

BSEE with 0-5 years of related experience with the ability to complete tasking on time with minimal supervision. Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving to get past technical issues; communicate technical and non-technical topics clearly and professionally. Ability to learn and demonstrate understanding of complex technical topics. Proficient in Microsoft® Office Suite, ERP, Seimans, Omron,,PLC programming, Labview. Desired but not critical Auto CAD, Solid Works CAD experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as shop math, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Good interpersonal skills is humble and willing to openly share and teach engineering concepts in cross functional teams. Demonstrated balance of technical acumen. Ability to communicate and develop a working relationship with a variety of personnel. Strong organizational, leadership, planning, and presentation abilities. Ability to research, analyze, evaluate and interpret data. Ability to set and meet critical deadlines. Strong project management and team leader abilities. Working knowledge of common office software and tracking software. Hands on engineer that has good common sense.


KEY SKILLS

  • Good Troubleshooting skills: be able to fix machines with or without schematics/manuals, etc.
  • Control System design knowledge
  • PLC programming experience 
  • Experience in developing proto-types and test bench circuits/control systems
  • Experience in optics fundamentals, in conjunction with digital camera systems to project imagery to PC
  • Understand and can build PC with hardware and load software for production machinery.  
  • Experience using basic heavy machinery, drill press, sander and band saw as examples
  • Experience with basic pneumatic plumbing understanding
  • Comprehend and understand mechanical drawings.

Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
