Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Rooms patients. Obtains height, weight, temperature. Distributes, scores and records patient screening and assessment tool information when completed by patient/parent.
- Screens for vaccine needs on the daily schedule. Administers vaccines. Assists in maintaining vaccine program (maintaining temperature logs, monitoring inventory and equipment, and other documentation.
- Conducts appropriate medical testing - including CLIA-waived lab tests, spirometry, hearing/vision screens, etc.
- Assists in quality improvement and population management activity including patient recall, care of complex patients, positive mental health screens, emergency room follow up.
- Assists in tracking, managing and “closing the loop” on all referrals, labs, supplies, medical equipment and radiology orders
- Attend training sessions as appropriate and document the steps for using population management tools at Small Town Pediatrics
- Engage in activities to support the Patient Centered Primary Care Home and quality improvement alliance criteria including execution of the timeline and workflow to assure meeting deadlines for transferring measures and files.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintain efficient operations by following policies and procedures, reports on needed changes, and participates in improving and refining office practices.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant
- Minimum one year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience administering childhood immunizations
- Basic Spanish as a second language skills not required, but useful
We are a health care practice serving children. Immunization against preventable infectious diseases, including annual flu shots and appropriate coronavirus is important and expected for the candidate’s protection as well as protection of our patients and families.

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
