What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Assistant position at Small Wonders Discovery and Learning Center?
We are NOW HIRING childcare support staff for our West Branch location!
Small Wonders Discovery and Learning Center is looking to hire several support staff to help assist lead teachers in our classrooms and throughout the center. Our staff are compassionate, hard workers looking to train new staff on how to LOVE on our kiddos! We strive to give the BEST care for every child!!
We TRAIN all staff on the job to make them feel comfortable and confident in their job!!!
Part time to full time shifts are available. Mon - Fri, we are open until- 6 pm.
The ideal candidate would be someone with an open availability that can be scheduled as needed between 6am-6pm. (We have 5-8 hour shifts available)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- You will need to get a background check done once you are hired (We schedule the appointment for you!)
- You will need to create an OCCRRA account and take online trainings through OCCRRA to learn about the Ohio childcare licensing rules.
- You will need to have your doctor sign a physical form showing that you are fit to work with young children.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Giving breaks
- Filling in classrooms when teachers are on vacation or gone for the day
- Prepping and serving meals, dishes and taking out the trash
- Cleaning and sanitizing toys
- following licensing and Small Wonders policies
- greeting children and parents at arrival,
- checking children in attendance,
- conducting fun learning activities,
- reading and dancing,
- changing diapers and potty training and so much more! T
