Job Description
Cake Decorator is responsible for designing, preparing, and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods to meet customer specifications and company standards. They use various techniques, tools, and ingredients to create visually appealing and delicious confections.
Job Responsibilities:
Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other pastries according to customer requests or standard designs.
Use piping, edible decorations, and other techniques to create aesthetically pleasing designs.
Ensure all cakes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards.
Collaborate with customers to take custom orders and provide recommendations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the decorating station, tools, and work area.
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
Manage inventory of decorating supplies and order necessary materials.
Stay updated on current cake trends and new decorating techniques.
Job Requirements:
Proven experience as a cake decorator, pastry chef, or similar role.
Strong artistic and creative skills.
Knowledge of different types of icings and decorative techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and precision.
Good customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Side note: We are a small family business so we try to stay closed for big family holidays and we are closed on Sundays
Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary or baking certification is a plus.
Experience with specialty/theme cakes
Buttercream art
This position is hourly paid plus additional pay available in the form of tips on weekly and monthly basis
