Imagine three data centers, a blossoming AWS Gov Cloud tenant, and a manufacturing network where PLCs talk to AWS in milliseconds—yet production never notices a blip.  As our IT Infrastructure Engineer, you’re the architect and reliability artist behind that magic.  One hour you’re turning racks of legacy VMware hosts into code defined blueprints; the next you’re pairing with OT to micro-segment a new VLAN so a robot arm stays cybersafe.  You see infrastructure as a living product: observable, self-healing, and citizen-developer friendly.  Your calm, curious presence sets the tone in war rooms, and your scripts erase the need for most war rooms in the first place.

What you’ll tackle 

• Keep the lights green. Own day to day health of servers, networks, and storage across three data centers and AWS, hitting 15minute RPO/RTO targets. 

• Automate the boring. IaC config management RPA “AI”, transform manual runbooks 

• Security & compliance first. CIS benchmarks, MFA, log pipelines; feed Vanta for compliance. 

• Cloud smart migrations. Lead phases of our cloud migration and hybrid footprint. 

• Factory floor connectivity. Secure VLANs & PLCs, troubleshoot down to the port. 

• Disaster ready. Own backup and replication- and quarterly failover tests. 

• Project leadership. Run infra projects from charter to postmortem, using agile boards and clear comms. 

You’ll thrive here if you bring: 

Technical Mastery 

• Hybrid Cloud Depth— 5  years designing and operating mixed on prem / cloud environments in high tempo manufacturing.  Expert level VMware plus hands on AWS (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, CDK) and container knowhow (Docker/ECS). 

• Security & Compliance DNA — Track record of NIST, CMMC, or ITAR aligned hardening and evidence collection. 

• Scripting Fluency — PowerShell, Python, or Bash that automates builds, audits, and incident triage. 

Human Skills 

• Empathy in Action — Translate packet loss and latency charts into action plans for plant managers. 

• Mentor Mentality — Coach junior techs, share playbooks, celebrate collective wins, and raise the team’s bus factor every sprint. 

• Goal Oriented Ownership — You set clear targets, measure relentlessly, and close every loop—no request vanishes into the void. 

Project Discipline 

• Plan to Done Rigor: Gantt/Kanban boards, proactive risk logs, and retros that feed continuous improvement. 

Physical Readiness 

• Hands-On Hustle — Comfortable lifting 40 lbs. and crawling behind racks when needed. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related degree preferred
• 5 years of experience designing and operating mixed on-premises/cloud environments in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Expert-level VMware plus hands-on AWS (VPC, EC2, IAM, S3 RDS, CDK) along with Docker/ECS
• Strong security and compliance expertise with demonstrated strengths in NIST, CMMC, or ITAR-aligned hardening and evidence collection
• PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting
• Previous experience managing ERP systems (Infor preferred, but not required)
• In depth knowledge in Windows server and Active Directory
• Proficient in Cisco networking products
• General knowledge of IP telephony and call centers

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $87,000 – 120,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. This role is bonus/and or incentive eligible.
