Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and oral examinations.
- Conduct dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing procedures to maintain optimal oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
- Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software and ensure all documentation complies with regulations.
- Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Collaborate with dentists and other team members to provide comprehensive care, including assisting with procedures as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental hygiene practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy related to dental health and hygiene.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
- Previous experience in a dental clinic setting, particularly with pediatrics, is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and work collaboratively within a team.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care while adhering to infection control standards.
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
