Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with dentists and other dental professionals to assist in various procedures, maintain patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection control.
Duties
- Assist dentists during procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed for diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and medical records for each patient.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
- Assist in the management of dental materials and supplies.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments using Dentrix software.
- Ensure the dental operatory is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times.
- Support general dentistry practices including prosthodontics as required.
Skills
- Proficient in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
- Knowledgeable in anatomy relevant to dental care and treatment.
- Experience with X-ray technology and safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of infection control measures within a clinical setting.
- Familiarity with medical documentation practices to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ability to assist effectively in various dental procedures across general dentistry and prosthodontics.
- Proficient in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software for record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills to interact positively with patients and team members.
