Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. You will work closely with clients in a group home setting, assisting with daily activities and ensuring their safety and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor and document clients' physical and emotional well-being, including vital signs and behavioral changes.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Support individuals with disabilities or dementia in achieving personal goals and developing life skills.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge in direct support care.
Experience
- Previous experience in social work, group home settings, or senior care is preferred.
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques and vital signs assessment is a plus.
- Experience in meal preparation for individuals with dietary restrictions or special needs is advantageous.
- A background in nursing or caregiving roles will be beneficial for this position.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members are essential.
- A compassionate approach to care, along with patience and understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities or dementia.
